The Pre-Summer 2006 “Get Pumped” Online Reunion!
What? A gathering of Culver Summer alumni, campers, and staff in the Go Culver.com messageboards to swap stories, make fun of Culver pictures, and generally get psyched up for the upcoming summer camp season. Catch up with old friends, learn something new about Culver, brainstorm ideas for your unit or old unit for this summer and generally get pumped up for this summer!
Who? Alumni, campers, and staff from Upper Camp, Woodcraft Camp, and Specialty Camp are all invited. Anyone else who’s just interested in some fun message baord action is also invited. Counselors from past summers and this upcoming year will be online as well as a few special surprise guests.
When? Wednesday June 7th from 9pm EST to 11pm EST.
Where? Right here on http://www.goculver.com. The lion’s share of the “festivities” will be taking place in our message boards but the chat room will be open and we’ll be holding yet another photo caption contest in the gallieries (see below for details)
Why? As nice as it is to have 200-300 people stopping by the site every day, its rare to have more than 3-4 people in the boards at one time. This limits the “give and take” that you get from having a lot more people reading and posting at once. With 30-50 people on the boards, by the time you’ve responded to one message, someone else has already written something new for you to read. By picking a specific time and organizing a few fun things to do online everyone involved gets a much more dynamic experience.
Photo Caption Contest:
During the reunion Go Culver.com will be holding its third “Funny Caption Contest” in the photo galleries with the writer of the funniest caption winning a free Go Culver.com t-shirt in the mail from cafepress.com. Three pictures will be chosen from the galleries at various points throughout the night (9pm 9:30pm and 10pm) and visitors will have until 10:40pm to write the funniest or most interesting caption they can think of for the picture beneath it.
Second and third place finishers will each recieve a custom title of their choosing for the forums.

We’re trying to think up more fun ideas for events to hold during the reunion like the photo caption contest. If you can think of anything, post it in the “Get Pumped up” preview reunion thread!
