Lake Maxinkuckee Culver Plane Crash

On August 10, 2005 during Culver Military Academy Specialty Camp an academy single-engine Piper Warrior airplane crashed into Lake Maxinkuckee just beyond the naval pier.
Killed in the crash were flight instructor Brent Bauman, 21, of Niwot, Colo., and 14-year-old aviation camp student Peter Mueller of Tampa, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.
As of 3-06 Culver has suspeded all flights from its airfield and grounded its fleet pending the results of an FAA investigation.
